Bears with Grace began with an idea.
Bears with Grace began with an idea. An idea from the heart to make a difference. An idea to bring comfort to a child who might be new or a little afraid of this big thing called school.
Making a difference
And what better way to make a difference than to give the gift of a beautiful cuddly bear. And so was born “Bears with Grace”. These precious little friends looked just like them. Dressed in the same school uniform and so adorable they provided instant calming and comfort.
A Gift for older kids
Then came the idea to offer a gift for our older kids to remember their Primary School days as they went on to High School. Or to celebrate as they graduated from Senior school and entered the real world to make their own mark. A memento to keep and remind them of those great days.
Forward a couple of years and this wonderful idea, after having brought joy, comfort and celebration to many, was passed on to another who shared the same passion to make a difference and bring peace and love to our most valuable family members, our kids.
Meet Paulette
Paulette Thacker has always cared about people. She has also spent most of her adult life being creative with a passion for sewing, craft and inventing unique ways to bring special gifts of joy to those around her. And being a mum, she understands what our children need.
We also have a passion for making better choices for our world. That’s why we have adopted a practice of recycling as many used school uniforms as possible to create the clothing we dress our bears in. We also currently source a percentage of our teddy bears from collectors and upcycle them instead of buying more manufactured goods.
What better combination could there be for the next season of “Bears with Grace”.
And so, here we are.
